The Lutron SC941 is a 94 dB professional quality sound source for calibrating sound level meters with 0.5" diameter microphones.
Calibration procedure
Carefully insert the microphone of the sound level meter into the calibrator socket. Set the sound level meter to be calibrated to the range suitable for measuring the 94dB level. Turn on the calibrator's power supply (OFF/BATT TEST/ON switch in the "ON" position) - the calibrator will generate a standard tone of 1000Hz frequency and 94dB level. Use the meter's calibration potentiometer to bring the indication to exactly "94dB" or the instrument's pointer reaches the "CAL" position.
