The RTB2002 oscilloscope is a two-channel digital oscilloscope with a 10-bit ADC, 10 Mpkt memory and a 10.1-inch screen. These features, combined with an intelligent operating concept, make the R&S®RTB2000 series oscilloscopes an excellent laboratory tool. The device is ideal for troubleshooting during projects, and will also successfully find use in university laboratories and in production or service departments.
The oscilloscope has four times the vertical resolution of standard 8-bit ADCs. In addition, it maintains a high sampling rate at all times.
The largest display in its class (10.1") of this model will provide functionality and convenience.
The R&S®RTB2000 offers users more than just an oscilloscope. It also includes the option of a logic analyzer, protocol analyzer, waveform and pattern generator, and digital voltmeter. The device supports dedicated modes for frequency analysis, mask testing and long data acquisition.
The RTB2000 series oscilloscopes can be enhanced with the R&S® RTB-PK1 option kit upon request. The kit includes:

Oscilloscope
With a sampling rate of up to 2.5 G samples/s and a memory depth of up to 20 M samples, the R&S® RTB2002 oscilloscope
stands out in its class. A waveform update rate of more than 50,000 waveforms/s ensures,
that the instrument responds quickly and reliably captures errors in signals. The included standard tools
provide fast results, such as QuickMeas, mask tests, FFT, math, cursors and automatic measurements, min. statistics.
Logic analyzer
The R&S®RTB-B1 option turns any R&S®RTB2002 into an intuitive-to-use MSO with 16 additional digital channels.
The oscilloscope captures and analyzes signals from the analog and digital components of the embedded design - signals
are captured synchronously and with temporal correlation to each other. For example, the delay between the
input and output of an A/D converter can be conveniently determined using cursor measurements.
Protocol analyzer (additional option)
Protocols such as I2C, SPI and CAN/LIN often transmit control messages between ICs.
The R&S® RTB2002 has comprehensive options for triggering and decoding protocol-specific
serial interfaces. Selective acquisition and analysis of relevant events and data is possible. Thanks to
hardware implementation, smooth operation and high update rates are ensured even for long
acquisitions. This is advantageous, for example, for capturing multi-packet serial bus signals.
Waveform and pattern generator (additional option)
The optional R&S®RTB-B6 waveform and pattern generator up to 50 Mbit/s is useful for educational purposes
and for implementing hardware prototypes. In addition to typical sine waveforms, square/pulse waveforms,
ramp and noise, it generates arbitrary waveforms and 4-bit signal patterns. The waveforms and patterns can be
imported as CSV files or copied from oscilloscope waveforms. Before playing the signals, the user
has the option to preview them for quick signal validation. It is possible to use
predefined patterns for I2C, SPI, UART and CAN/LIN, for example.
Digital voltmeter
The R&S® RTB2002 has a three-digit voltmeter (DVM) and a six-digit frequency counter on each
channel for simultaneous measurements. Measurement functions include DC, AC+DCRMS and ACRMS.
Frequency analysis mode
Difficult-to-find faults often result from the interaction between time and frequency signals.
The FFT function on R&S® RTB2002 oscilloscopes is activated by pressing a button and entering the
center frequency and range. With the high-performance FFT function of the R&S® RTB2002 oscilloscopes,
signals can be analyzed at up to 128k points. Other practical tools include
Cursor measurements and AUTOSET in the frequency domain.
Mask test mode
Mask tests quickly reveal whether a signal is within defined tolerance limits.
Using statistical PASS/FAIL evaluation, they assess the quality and stability of the device under test.
Signal anomalies and unexpected results are quickly identified. When the mask is violated,
measurement is stopped. Each violation can generate a pulse on the AUX-OUT connector of the R&S® RTB2002.
This pulse output can be used to trigger actions in the measurement setup.
History and segment memory mode (additional option)
The history function option of the R&S®RTB-K15 increases the memory capacity from 10 MSa to 160 MSa. Users scroll through
past acquisitions and analyze the data using all oscilloscope tools, such as protocol decoding
and logic channels. Serial protocol and pulse sequences are recorded virtually without interruption.
